Created and established by the Twinwoods Estate family in 2014, with the aim of utilizing their extensive wine grower relationships throughout South Australia, to produce fruit driven vibrant wines at outstanding price points. Kalamanda is based in the heart of the McLaren Vale wine country in South Australia. Kalamanda has established some distribution, in HK and China, both in, on and off-premise. In China, the recent decision from Mofcom forbids any importation from Australia. The brand having some established distribution, the team decided to keep the brand and change the sourcing to Chile.
The goal is to evolve KALAMANDA into a know how label of curated estate wines, a kind of universal name synonym of beautiful/affordable wine for everyday occasion. We create a unique identity across Australian and Chilean range, both on and off trade with a visual distinction for Kalamanda bottles to stand out on shelves.
Throuht a unique salient symbol easy to describe (For Chinese consumers not knowing how to read Latin alphabet) we purpose a clear brand architecture allowing a family feel with clear distinction between retail pack, on trade pack and the premium pack. Also, to appeal and attract young and wine-consumers in China we designed a minimalist design that stands out and creates a connection between heritage and contemporary
